Thirteen artists exhibit in this show and sale of plein air landcapes titled "Painting the Seasons." All are members of Greater Rochester Plein Air Painters, an active, inclusive, group that paints outside the studio whenever possible. Paintings feature a range of medium and styles, including pastel, watercolor, and oil. Most of the paintings are for sale. Participating artists include Teresa Barlis, Kirt Lapham, Victoria Brzustowicz, Beth Carr, Corinne Avery, Lynne LaValley, Carol Thiel, Colette Savage, Carole Agosto, Heather Nenadic, David Gardner, Melanie Martinek, and Lori Galan.

The Irondequoit Art Club’s HOLIDAY ARTS & CRAFTS SALE, will open on Friday, November 25 at 10 AM for THREE DAYS ONLY, running through Sunday, November 27. The show is at a NEW LOCATION - SUMMERVILLE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 4845 St. Paul Blvd., Rochester, NY 14617. As in the past, credit card payments will be accepted, and Sunday shopping will be available from 12pm to 4pm. Admission is free. The site is accessible to all.

The Irondequoit Art Club will hold its 62nd Annual Spring Show & Sale April 28 through May 7 at the Irondequoit Public Library, 1290 Titus Ave, Irondequoit, NY 14617. Admission is free. Credit card sales will be accepted. The site is accessible to all. Best of Show, Juror & Merit Awards will be presented to those pieces deemed noteworthy by professional artist judges.
This year’s judges are multi-faceted award-winning artist and teacher, Kathy Armstrong, who exhibits regionally and nationally, and Peter Monacelli, an artist, teacher, carpenter, contractor, musician and philosopher, who primarily works in traditional or non-traditional drawing media. Monacelli has had 78 group and 55 one-person art shows since the early 1970’s and is recognized for his commitment as a “patron of the arts”. Karen Chamberlin, Karen Pesch and Francine Bonair are Co-Chairs of this event. Artist awards will be presented during the Opening Reception on Thursday, April 28 from 7 to 8:45 PM. As in previous years, there will be a “Meet the Artists Day” on Saturday, April 30, beginning at 1 PM. Several artists will speak for up to 10 minutes about their entries and field questions. This will be a unique opportunity to gain insights into the artist’s process in terms of inspiration, artistic journey, background, and techniques. Please stop by my home studio at 2 Baymon Dr., Chili, during one of my painting classes. We paint the landscape from a large reference monitor next to my easel. Pick up a brush and join in. All of your painting supplies are provided during the first month. Classes are recorded so you can rewatch them later by clicking an email link. Classes are held: WEDNESDAYS 9 am-11:30 am THURSDAYS 11:00 am-1:30 pm FRIDAYS 8 am-11:30 am (Outdoor class, also simulcast on Zoom) Friday’s class is held at various scenic locations around Rochester, NY. In the event of bad weather, class will be held via Zoom only. Step-by-Step Instruction I demonstrate how to break down a composition into simple shapes, and provide step-by-step instruction in color mixing and paint application. We will explore primarily landscape, though subject matter may occasionally include portraiture, still life and reference provided by students. Seven paintings were selected for awards by the juror, nationally recognized artist Brian Keeler of Ithaca, NY.

The three Juror’s Award winners are: Fall on the Farm, oil, by John Heister; The Gardener, oil, by Andrea Nadel; and My Maddy, watercolor, by Patti Same. The three Merit Awards are: The Prayer, oil, by Pat Gough; Pan, graphite and colored pencil, by Kathy Lindsley; and Fairport Brewery, colored pencil, by Linda Marzano. Keeler maintains a studio in his hometown of Wyalusing, PA, and teaches at Keystone College near Scranton. He presents workshops in the US and in Italy.
