At the Irondequoit Art Club’s 59th Annual Spring Show and Sale, held April 27 through May 6 at the Irondequoit Public Library, patrons were asked to vote for their favorite pieces. Winners were announced at the club’s business meeting on May 23. More than 400 votes were entered. The popular vote winner was artist Norma Gingold for her pen & ink drawing Serenity. Gingold won a cash prize and the admiration of the club. High numbers of votes were cast for all of Jeannette Profeta’s works - Mother of Sorrows, Big Sur Morning (also Best in Show winner) and White Egret. The following artists and their art also received many votes: Jane M. Adams for Monet’s Water Garden; Michele Barnard for Poppy Place; Judy Travis for all her works - Water Lily, Elaine, and Evening Whispers; Patrick McCaffery forMaine Holiday; John Lenhard for The Next Supper; Jeanette Musliner for Willow Farm; Sally Steinwachs for Durand III; Gwen Ostrom for Butterflies/Kissing Fish; and Jan Ferry-Axman for Tree Reflections.
The Irondequoit Art Club extends sincere thanks to everyone who visited the Spring Show & Sale to support the club, cast a vote &/or make a purchase. The Irondequoit Art Club was founded 59 years ago and is Rochester’s oldest suburban art club.
