Arena  Art Group
Year Founded:  1951
Mission Statement/Purpose:  We, The Arena Art Group desire to further the understanding and appreciation of contemporary art in all its varied forms.  Our ultimate goal and purpose is to explore imaginative and current subject matter which is visually stimulating, professionally executed and exhibited.
Membership Requirements:   Application information is available on our web-site/ applicant's artwork is juried twice, each year.  First by the Steering Committee, if accepted then a second jury process by the entire membership is done. Applicants are promptly notified of the results by the membership committee.

Batavia Society of Artists
Year Founded:  1950
Mission Statement/Purpose:  BSA has been encouraging artistic endeavors through exhibitions, art demonstrations and lectures since 1950.
Membership Requirements: None

The Brockport Artists’ Guild
Year Founded: 2010
Mission Statement/Purpose: To provide area artists an opportunity to connect with other artists, to show their work, and to enhance and encourage their artistic endeavors.  To offer the community the benefit of local group art shows, lectures and demonstrations.
Membership Requirements: Two levels of Membership.
  • Amateur/Student:   Open to anyone
  • Professional: Open to artists who are interested in showing and selling their work and have accomplished a level above amateur. Membership at this level is juried by the current professional members.
Media Accepted: All art forms
Fiscal Year: May-April
Program Year: Sept.-June
Cost: $20 per yr. for Amateur   $40 per yr. for Professional

The Chili Art Group
Year Founded:   1960, as the Community Artists
Mission Statement/Purpose:  To encourage and promote an appreciation of the arts in the community thru art demonstrations and exhibits.
Membership Requirements:   Open to anyone interested in the arts who are 18 years of age or older.  All skill levels welcomed.
Media Accepted:   Two dimensional, sculpture and photography.

Exhibit Opportunities, juried or non juried:     Yes,  we have a juried show in September at Barnes & Nobles, Pittsford Plaza. Our annual Spring Show is open to all paid members who have attended at least 4 meetings per calendar year. The Spring Show is also juried.

Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters, Inc   (GVPAP)
Year Founded:   2005
Mission Statement/Purpose:  Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters, Inc., a not-for-profit artist association, promotes and inspires quality plein air painting while providing socially pleasant painting opportunities for its membership throughout the year. 
Membership Requirements:   Any artist committed  to  promoting  the art of plein  air painting.  Members are practicing plein air artists.  Prospective members may see the process for membership here.
Plein air painting is defined as a painting in which eighty-five percent (85%) of the time used to complete a painting is spent in “open air” (natural light) at the site of the subject of the painting.
Media Accepted:   Painting mediums such as oil, watermedia, acrylic, gouache, and pastel.

Location of Meetings/Times:  Through regularly scheduled outdoor painting sessions, GVPAP provides diverse plein air painting opportunities throughout the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes Region.

Greater Rochester Plein Air Painters (GRPAP)
Year Founded:  2015
Mission Statement/Purpose: A chapter of New York Plein Air Painters, Greater Rochester Plein Air Painters is an inclusive, active group of painters that get together weekly throughout the year to paint outside of the studio. All levels are welcome, and all media, too.
Membership Requirements:  The only membership requirement is to express interest and participate. Members are asked to host two paint-outs a year in order to exhibit with the group, and student members are exempt from that requirement. (Note: being admitted to the GRPAP Facebook group is distinct from membership in  GRPAP)

Irondequoit Art Club
Year Founded: 1958
Mission Statement/Purpose:  To bring together people with an interest in creative art.To encourage beginners.
To stimulate its members by working together from models or still-life set-ups, outdoor sketching, group discussions, informational films and demonstrations by teachers and other professionals. To provide a means for exhibiting creative work of its members for the enrichment of the community

New York Figure Study Guild

Pittsford Art Club
Year Founded:  1961
Mission Statement/Purpose:  We are a group of Artists with a keen interest in and appreciation for fine art and actively developing artistic talents.  We’re committed to promoting the education, appreciation, enjoyment and distribution of fine art.
